Having completed her studies at Leek College of Art and Colchester Insitute of Art with a Degree in Studio Ceramics and an ERAC Distinction, Katharine taught at Suffolk College and the Training for Life Project in Ipswich, before opening her own studio in Suffolk. Working in high firing white earthenware she creates highly individual pieces celebrating the female form and all things feminine and elegant. Her vases, wall hangings and millinery embrace styles from the 19th and 20th Centuries with soft flowing curves and delicate decoration featuring lace, roses and subtle colour.
From my studio conveniently located on Leiston's High Street with car parking close by and on bus routes from Ipswich and Aldeburgh I teach traditional techniques in working with clay to all ages and abilities. I am proud to be acclaimed as an "inspirational" tutor. My teaching methods highlight not only creativity but also the therapeutic qualities of working with clay. I have hosted workshops in schools and care homes and community groups. My own work is regularly exhibited at my studio and in galleries in Norfolk and Suffolk
I hope that you have enjoyed the journey through my website and look forward to welcoming you to Katie's Pottery Studio. Whether you are a beginner or just want to brush up your pottery skills you will find a creative and fun environment waiting for you
